like crazy

Yesterday I crocheted almost all day. Here aree some of the things I made. My newest accomplishment is barefoot sandals! I also made some watermelon earrings that I love. Oh and hair ties! I figured out how to crochet around a circular object.

A pillow for my husband. Soft, soft bamboo yarn. He picked it out! I just need to make the inside pillow part now.

I made a baby blanket and a scarf in the same colors and pattern for our friends’ toddler son. My sister made a pillow to match. He loves this soft yarn! It’s Caron Simply Soft (ocean and heather I think).

I’m working on Vader’s lightsaber for our friend who is the father of the baby I made the above blanket for. The Yoda saber was for his close friend; their birthdays are in the same week!

Yo Gabba Gabba Crochet

I’m making these for some adorable little girls who happen to like Yo Gabba Gabba. My sister is going to help me finish the details and felt the faces when I’m done with the bodies.

1-Up!

I made these for my husband for his birthday this week. Pattern from inside my head.

Confession: Instead of singing in the shower sometimes I make up crochet patterns.

Kitchen Things

I made an owl magnet and a pot holder for a friend (my sister’s best friend since grade school). We also gave the chicks we made to her little girls, and they (I’ve heard) loved them! There’s a cute picture of her youngest daughter with one of the chicks that I’ll share if I get her permission first. She and her husband have the most adorable little girls ever!

Since then I’ve finished an apple hot pad, the kind you put a CD inside.

Sports Crochet & One More Flower

This is messy and needs work… I didn’t use a pattern, just winged it. I think I could do a tennis ball the same way and maybe a football (not the same way). I’m thinking of giving this stuffed baseball to my nephew for his birthday. We’ll see!

I also made one more flower magnet… here it is!

And now I might be done crocheting for awhile… at least the rest of the weekend! As much as I love it…. my hands are killing me!

Mother’s Day and Miscellany

This is just going to be lots of pictures. I didn’t really keep up with the patterns for the flowers… I sort of used other patterns to get an idea, but then I did my own thing so that if you used those patterns, your flower wouldn’t look anything like mine.

Image

Jennifer (my sister) made little hand-sewn bows for the chicks I made the other day. We’re going to give them to two adorable little girls;)

Image

These aren’t that interesting… bookmarks for my class at church to color for their moms Sunday. We can work on some phonics and word recognition in the process! 🙂 Note the ribbon…. Liam (my youngest cat) LOVES ribbon… but he eats it (and string and yarn and leaves…) and makes himself sick!

Image

So I took an old ribbon spool and made Liam a toy… he can’t get the ribbons off, so he can’t eat them! And he loves it. 🙂

Appliques

I made an owl applique today using this pattern:

http://snicketythings.blogspot.com/2012/04/all-things-crafty-crocheted-owl.html

I did the eyes and nose different…

I think I need to buy some eyes and some felt.

For Yoda’s eyes the other day, I used hematite beads I had in my jewelry stuff, but when I need bigger eyes, I have to crochet them.

I gave my sister the little owl applique. It wasn’t great! I might try again later.

I want to find a good snail applique and a turtle applique… I think they’d be cute on baby things.

Edit:

I gave the little applique owl to my sister! She likes it. She loves owls.

Then I made a little music note, like in this pattern:

Only I changed the end a little…

Here’s now mine looks:
